The very first edition of the PharmacoInformatics Summer School, organized by the PharmacoInformatics Lab of Amsterdam UMC, has concluded successfully! Led by Joanna Klopotowska and Birgit Damoiseaux-Volman, and involving several colleagues from our Medical Informatics department of Amsterdam UMC, 18 healthcare professionals spent an intensive week to increase their knowledge and skills in data-driven medication safety innovations.
📚 The program consisted of:
• Mapping information needs
• FAIR principles and quality control of EHR datd
• Data analysis methods (causal and predictive models)
• Development of decision support systems.
Theory was combined with interactive workshops and inspiring guest speakers. During the group assignment, participants learned how to use medical informatics for improving medication safety.
🎤 The week concluded with pitches, in which participants presented their developed innovations to their peers and instructors.
