Department
The department of Medical Informatics (in Dutch: Klinische Informatiekunde) is part of Amsterdam UMC. We are situated at location AMC. The department includes professionals working in education, registries and scientific research. Our colleagues have backgrounds in medical informatics, health sciences, medicine, pharmacology, computer science, artificial intelligence, and epidemiology.
Scientific field
Medical informatics is a scientific field on the intersection of information science, computer science, and healthcare. Our goal is to enhance health and healthcare by investigating how biomedical data, information (technology), and knowledge can be effectively utilized for scientific research, problem-solving, and decision-making.
