Department
The department Medical Informatics (in Dutch: Klinische Informatiekunde) is part of Amsterdam UMC. We are situated at location AMC. Our department is formed by collagues working in education, registries and scientific research, and have diverse backgrounds and various specialties (medical informatics, health sciences, medical background, pharmacology, computer science, artificial intelligence, epidemiology).
Scientific field
Medical informatics is a scientific field on the intersection of information science, computer science, and healthcare. Our goal is to enhance health and healthcare by investigating how biomedical data, information (technology), and knowledge can be effectively utilized for scientific research, problem-solving, and decision-making.
